At Stuart W. Cramer High School, students take Advanced Placement (AP), Career and College Promise (CCP) and honors courses to get a head start on college. We offer outstanding fine arts programs in band, chorus, visual arts and theater. Plus, our Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes include unique options you won’t find everywhere such as welding and culinary arts.

Stuart W. Cramer High School met its academic growth expectations for the 2024-2025 year. We also achieved a B school performance grade, and we increased our graduation rate to above 90 percent. All of this means we are moving in the right direction toward higher academic achievement!

Stuart W. Cramer High School offers outstanding fine arts programs in band, chorus, visual arts and theater. Our students receive awards local, regional, and state for their performances.

Stuart W. Cramer High School has a strong athletics program. We have won state championships in wrestling, track and field, and golf. Our student-athletes show great teamwork, school spirit and sportsmanship.

Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually.

The Gaston County Board of Education will conduct a special meeting on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gaston County Schools Central Office, 943 Osceola Street, Gastonia. The meeting is open to the public; however, members of the public will not be able to be in the Board Room during the closed session portion of the meeting. View the agenda here.

Academics

Career and Technical Education

Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program offers real-world learning in areas such as culinary arts, cybersecurity, health sciences, emergency medical technology, and welding.

Clubs and Activities

We offer a wide variety of clubs for students to join and get involved in including Battle of the Books, Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy, National Honor Society and Beta Club.

Athletics

Stuart W. Cramer High School has a strong athletic tradition, competing for conference championships in both boys' and girls' sports.
